Kay Bojesen created his guardsmen in 1942, drawing inspiration from one of Denmark's national symbols: the royal guards of Amalienborg Palace. The Standard-bearer is composed of sturdy spun polyester, and the figurines are crafted from hand-painted beech. This original Danish design is a great gift idea - something precious to be passed down through generations.
